How to export audio files as MP3?

This is for those people who uses the Audacity software for audio recording.

As we all know, Audacity is an OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE that allows us to record and edit audio files. The good thing about this software is that it has versions for most of the major operating systems in this planet – MAC, WINDOWS, and LINUX. Aside from that, it is FREE. Also, audacity is user-friendly. At a glance, you will easily understand the software’s interface.

The only problem is, it does not export audio files directly as MP3. Instead, it needs a LAME MP3 encoder to do that. The question now is, how do you export audio files as MP3 in audacity?

Please follow these steps.

1. Download lame_enc.dll online.
2. Click “Save File”
3. Copy the lame file in your audacity plug ins folder. You can locate this in your drive C program files inside Audacity folder. The plug ins folder is located inside the Audacity folder in your program files located in the drive C of your computer.
4. Once you are done, start recording using Audacity.
5. After recording, click the “File” button, scroll down and select “Export as MP3″
6. Once you do that, a prompt message will pop out telling you that audacity does not export files directly as mp3. Instead, you need to use the “LAME MP3 encoder” because it has the lame_enc.dll file.
7. There is a question in the prompt message asking you if you want to locate the lame.dll file. Click yes.
8. Look for the lame.dll file in your drive C, program files, audacity folder, plug ins folder.
9. Click the lame_enc.dll file
10. Now you are ready to export your recorder file as mp3.

I am still shocked when I found out that my other blog was deleted for I did not follow the terms of this company that offers free blog hosting. My bad. I really did not follow the terms. Sorry.

Now, this is a warning to all of you who post ads in their blogs. Do not do it here or else you will wake up one day, blog deleted, money gone (advertisers will not pay for a missing blog entry), and broke. Find another host that allows you to post ads in your blog.

Remember, it is a big loss if you lose your ads and money but it is more painful to lose all your past posts and the memories as well.

So this is my eulogy to my old blog which earned me more than 15,000 hits already. I will surely miss you.

Back to the Old Days

Yesterday,my laptop finally decided to take its leave and I am left behind with so many things to do and I can’t move on because all my files are in it. I do have a backup but it’s not the updated version because I have scheduled the updating this Friday.

Also, I am supposed to submit a very important document tomorrow and I am not yet done with it because I don’t have any computer at home other than my late great laptop.

It was just yesterday when it died – both the battery and the adaptor, and yet it seemed like forever already. Johnnypanic said he missed the computer keyboard already. Yes. His MacBook crashed and so he has to fly to Cebu, where the nearest Apple Service Center is, to bring his MacBook back to life. So both of us are now computerless and the internet connection at home suddenly became useless and we are paying 1,000 a month for it.

Another Mac Story.

My high school bestfriend Mac listened to my ranting last Monday because I was so mad – an understatement really. The emotion was more of destructive and warlike and when I am in my Hitler mode, I need to treat myself with good food.

Johnnypanic and I went to Picobello to treat ourselves with two gargantuan slices of porkchop and a plate of risotto – a traditional Italian dish, and ended up paying 600 bucks for it. Aside from that, we gorged ourselves to good movies as we paraded ourselves at Mantex and I got myself “Once Upon A Time In America” while Johnnypanic bought the French Trilogy “Three Colors (Bleu, Blanc, Rouge).”

Video Converter for iPod Touch and iPod Video(5th Generation)

i bought my iPod video a few years back and somehow, i was not able to use it in its full feature because i am not that “techy ” and somehow gadgets are so not my thing. in fact, i am glad i have friends who know how to explain some software to me.

i am not saying though that i am totally blank when it comes to my gadgets.

if you want to upload videos in your iPod (both 5th generation with video and touch), you need a special software for that. the good news is, this software is for free. a freeware which you can download as long as you are connected online. this freeware will convert video files so that iTunes will be able to play/sync it with your iPod.

Steps.

1. Download the video converter here.

2. Download the latest iTunes version here.

3. Install the two wares. Once you are done. Click START – ALL PROGRAMS – JODIX FREE IPOD VIDEO CONVERTER.

4. Click Add files then navigate to the folder where you store your video files.

5. The Settings tab will appear. Here, you can view the details of the video file you want to convert.You may edit the basic information (Tag Editor) as well as the settings of the conversion you would like to do like Video Quality. Remember that the better the video quality, the bigger the file. Click OK.

6. Once you are done editing the basic information and setting of the video file, click Convert.

7. Then all you have to do is wait for the conversion to finish.

8. Once you are done, open your iTunes. you can either sync your iPod to your media library in your hard drive or you can drag and drop it in your iPod using your iTunes.

note: you may sync your iPod with your media library but in some 5th generation iPod video, once you sync it with movies, all your audio files will be deleted. i suggest that you drag and drop the file into your player. it is way easier and faster. remember to do it one at a time because these files are too big. it is not a problem if you are using a SUPER COMPUTER.hehehe
